We are pleased to install another large capacity universal milling machine. A Correa Norma MG 35 with a capacity of 3500mm x 1250mm x 1500mm and maximum working load weight of 10 metric tonnes. 

Managing Director, Neil Travis says that "It made sense to go for another Correa. They are accurate, reliable and we have had success with several of the Correa brand of tool already.” A fantastic testament to this is the recent sale of one of our first Correa milling machines, acquired in 1985. It was still going strong, but we are committed to investment in modern machine tools, making significant investment every year or two, and it was time to sell it on.

It gives us great confidence to know that our highly skilled members of staff are able to work to the tightest of tolerances on this machine tool.  The ability to meet our customer's specification in terms of dimension, surface finish and just as importantly, timescale, is key to our success.

The installation process began with a new concrete foundation. This removes all unwanted vibrations, thus preserving the integrity of the machining operation. The Correa Norma was shipped from Spain, then assembled and installed on-site by DTS, Correa’s sole UK agent. Despite the problems presented by COVID restrictions, assembly took just three weeks and the machine tool was ready to go.
